Chicago State University Admissions
Applications to the undergraduate programs are accepted through July 15 prior to the fall semester, with an application fee of $25. In addition to the application form and fee, students must provide test scores and transcripts, have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and have taken four units of English, three of math, three of social studies, and three of science with lab, as well as two elective units. Applications can be requested but not completed on-line except for students who have never attended college or who have fewer than 24 semester hours.
Graduate students must provide the following for admissions to the graduate school: application and fee, transcripts, a statement of goals and objectives, and program-specific requirement. Students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are “generally admitted.” A graduate application has an application fee of $25.
Priority consideration is given to those applicants that submit by July 15 before their freshman year. Beginning freshman admissions requirements include a high school diploma or GED (score of 225), ACT score of 17 or SAT score of 830, and a high school grade point average of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale). The admissions office also requires a copy of the applicant’s 6th semester transcript. All applicants must also submit a medical examination report, and any student admitted who was born after 1957 must submit proof of immunization from measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, and tetanus. Incoming freshmen can submit an application online via the office of admissions website.
